This post is part of the Chennai Bloggers Club’s CBC VIBGYOR BLOG TAG where some of us will write a post on the colours of VIBGYOR each day starting 1st of September to the 7th of September.
The colour theme for today’s post is ORANGE !
While we at CBC are doing a VIBGYOR tag for this week, there’s a group of people who are doing the “Write Tribe” special for this week, where they list 7 things everyday on a theme or topic or list. Now, being inspired by Write Tribe and being a part of CBC, I am trying to combine the two, by listing 7 personalities, in ORANGE, who have inspired me, actually the mankind, in many ways.
1. Swami Vivekananda
Nobody in this world can remember him, without thinking about his famous Chicago speech – “Dear brothers and sisters of America”. He is such a great inspiration to the youngsters in India with his simple speeches reaching out to the millions. The one that I always remember is “Arise Awake. Stop not till your goal is reached” !
A teacher, a spiritualist reformer, a person who has made India to feel proud.

2. Maha Periyavaa
Maha Periyavaa is a soul with lots of love towards the mankind, that he has helped many people through his amazing miracles in their life. He is the profound leader for all of us and is simply God for us. Still now, He touches many people’s lives with his amazing miracles – its only the belief that matters.
Maha Periyavaa padhangale saranam !!!

3. Sai Baba
Sai, my God, my everything. The miracle maker from his tomb in Shirdi, he is the absolute One for many in this world. His simple preachings which go beyond the realms of religion make Him so easily accessible to the many devotees around the world.

4. Avvaiyaar
Nobody in this Tamil state would’ve done their schooling without learning Avvaiyaar’s “அறம் செய்ய விரும்பு” and the continuing beautiful lines. We all didn’t know how she looked like or whether she can really sing that well. But Avvaiyaar for us, has always been this wonderful singer and actor K.B. SUNDARAMBAL. It’s sometimes difficult to think of any other person to be Avvaiyaar. With her wonderful voice she has rendered many amazing songs which are still a favorite among many of us.

5. Buddha
The King who left his Kingdom and everything in search of peace – inner peace – is this amazing Gautam Buddha. People go here and there searching for “Nirvana”, while it’s so simple that it can be found inside us, is what he believed in and preached too. A person who advocated Ahimsa and one of his greatest followers King Ashoka, is proof enough.

6. Ramakrishna Paramahamsa
Ramakrishna Paramahamsa was the Spiritual Guru of Swami Vivekananda. A great reformer and leader, certainly an inspiration to the mankind to follow a simple life which can be divine.

7. Ramana Maharishi
I am so inspired by his teachings and his quest of “Who am I?” which gives such simple learnings, into the realms of life. He is such a great inspiration, but he wears only white. So, I searched hard and found this picture of him in orange hue, to go with the tag.

There are many more amazing personalities who inspire people like me, on a day-to-day basis and I think one week is isn’t enough to write about them all.
I sincerely hope that you find inspiration in this set of orange 🙂

Loved this compilation, Uma and the wedding between Write Tribe and CBC. I seem to stand at the bridge connecting CBC and Write Tribe for having organised one Blog Tag and participating in another Blog Tag.
Joy always,
