Connecting with nature!

As I wake up everyday, I try my earnest to connect with nature – even if it is in a very small way!

To begin with
I like smelling my tulsi leaves,
touching the leaves of my balcony plants,
looking at the sky (quite the obvious one), wondering about the cloud patterns,
the color of the sky,
listening to the playful mynah,
trying hard to hear the other chirpers,
look at the branches outside my kitchen window and see if they look the same like yesterday or has there been a new branch…

– its endless but there is a strong connection with nature!

This connection uplifts me the whole day!

My “go to spot” at home!

This is the view from my kitchen window, which faces the western sky!
And this is my favorite spot at home!

I stand here, watching the clouds swim by while I wash vessels.
I occasionally take my cutting board with vegetables and stand near the window!
I stand there to sip coffee.
I try to fill bottles with drinking water standing and staring at the blue sky!
I watch the moving clouds as I drink water.
I try to take my calls in my kitchen, where I sit on the kitchen top and still can watch the clouds.
I stand there to feel the gentle breeze on me.
I don’t need any reason to stand in my favorite spot but I guess I like making up the reasons 😃

Eastern sky

Eastern sky is an amazing place
Announcing the new day’s face
Filling the Earth with grace
And the clouds that embrace!

The morning sky’s design
Making the golden rays that shine
Our lives that intertwine
With something so divine!

Here is a new beginning
Birds singing
Notes reverberating
Hopes rising
A new year coming…

A happy Tamil new year to all of you!

Hope

This beautiful click was taken by my dear friend Rekha! It is always an uplifting moment when friends send me pictures of skyscapes thinking about my love for those! Also it is surely a moment of self-satisfaction to know that my pictures and posts have been quite impressive enough for people to remember my love for such pictures.

The picture above is a perfect depiction of hope.

Hope

It all started with the ball of fire
Which showed up this morning
In the eastern sky
Killing the darkness
Lighting this Earth
Bringing in the chirping of birds
Those rays that flow gently
From the sun to humans
Is the reaching out
By nature
As a hug
To reinstate the hope
That this is part of the phase
Which has to happen
All is well
Just stay hopeful!

The solitary moment

A moment to reflect
Upon thee
Is here
For us to embrace!

Close the eyes
Observe the train of thoughts
Let them all come and go!

Here is the time
To feel gratitude
For this life
For this moment
Where we feel alive!

This solitary moment
Is mine to hold
To breathe in deep
To exhale the stress
And to feel the love
That encircles me!

Let the light in!

I recently got a tulsi plant for my home. Even though it is placed rightly in the balcony where there will be plenty of light for the plant, I am looking at it in wonder as it tries to grow out through the grill of the balcony. The light just outside of the grill is too bright than what is inside it and the plant is trying to reach for it. I am just amazed at these ways of nature – to always reach up to a higher level in the most gentle way.

And when a sapling grows into a beautiful tree like the one above, it doesn’t abandon or block the light that gave it the life it needed when it was young. Rather, it lets the light in and allows the light to shine through the leaves, flowers, fruits, and branches! It can result in such dreamy pictures from a nature lover’s point of view. But letting the light in is such a beautiful concept for any person to include in their routine too.

What we use in our childhood to become better beings – those habits, those people who inspire us, those passions – let them all into your life again and again and see your life glow!

Wonderful Wednesday!

This WW has always been my perfect muse! So, let the pictures do the talking today 😀

I have chosen the color pink for today to brighten me up!

The sky in pink!

The sky at dusk

Meandering roads
Silhouettes of trees
Some wavering clouds
And a sky at dusk
Each one competing
With another
To add beauty to this picture!

The artist called nature
Busy at work
With a flat-tipped brush
Dipped in glowing golden
Orange and yellow!

Strokes the canvas
Called the sky
To create this picture!
Showcasing the talent
And to reiterate
That there is no one
Better than
The artist called Nature!

Yesterday evening, as I was busy with some work, I peeped out of my window and saw this beautiful sky. I wanted to click and make it mine. But work kept me tied up and I missed to click.

And Universe has its way of answering those wishes. Within an hour, I receive this picture from a dear friend and my happiness knew no bounds.

WW – The wonder called sky!

As you are already aware now, I love these sky watching phases during my day. It might be a brief moment in the morning, when I stare through my balcony to see if the sun has risen before me. Or it could be a moment during the day when I casually look up to see if there are black clouds looming around. It could be even be a moment like below, when I caught the glowing western colors on the move, while going for a meeting. I somehow love this click of the sunset, as the colors blend so beautifully to create such lovely shades and the sun adds its lovely evening glow. Sigh.

The following one is a fun picture. The constant looking up at the sky for patterns may yield such results, on a few occasions. While I saw a horse, dog and a bear – one behind the other, there were other friends of mine who lent their imaginary horses to this picture. And I love such cloud pattern based childlike conversations, where we keep looking for different animals or even people.

My dear friends who spent time cloud-watching with me virtually, gave me these responses and I enjoyed and laughed through the whole time.

  • looks more like a seahorse, an alligator and a rhinoceros to me 😂 and they’re dancing. Conga line 😊
  • they could be jet skiing too. 😂looks like they’re standing on one, the seahorse on the handlebar
  • Could be three on a magic carpet. 🤔 alakazam.
  • Spot the opera singer hitting a high note.
  •  ……….on a magic carpet!
  • Crocodile hugging its hatchling and a baby elephant is looking at both of them.
  • I can see a bird too.

Have a great day and look out for cloud patterns 😀

When the sky made its statement…

There is a routine to my days and generally it begins from the moment I open my eyes and look at the eastern sky from my caged balcony. I try to squeeze out my phone through the gaps and click the wondrous sky to my satisfaction. With the birds chirping, crows cawing, a gentle morning breeze caresses me. I soak in the wonder called sunrise and let the energy flow into me. My day begins and it’ll be an awesome one for sure, says my heart.

This morning was no different. But I stood in the balcony for a long time, gaping at the wonder high above. Here are the pictures, when the sky makes its statement and makes the people to look above and go wow at the nature that is bigger than anything else.

Have a wonderful day!
