I went to a Bank

As I enter the Bank, I am amazed by its interiors. Generally Banks have these boring interiors, with counters and people behind those meshed grill structure for more protection, thereby giving a feeling of meeting with prisoners, for me.

But this Bank was certainly looking different, as the interior strikes me first. It surely resembles the interiors of a high-end hotel. I look around with inquisitive eyes, trying to take in the decor, as much as possible. The colors, the furniture, the Zen corner everything was mind-blowing and for a moment, I thought that I am surely not in a Bank. There was no boring counters here. Neither were there people, who were dis-interested in their customers.

I was welcomed warmly and I smiled immediately – the reflex action to that perfect warmth.

And then when I told I’ve come here to collect a Cheque book on behalf of my husband, the lady took me to a cubicle, where I met with one of the Bank’s representatives. Β She was amazingly warm too, with her smile.

And I had to pinch myself twice before really understanding what that lady was doing for me – She was actually filling out the challan for the request of a Cheque Book !!!!  😯

But, I settled down to that groove and let myself be pampered. After all, it’s not every day that Banks show this much interest in customer welfare.

She started filling in the details, as though she had all the time in the world !!! I could’ve even had a pedicure done in that time !!!! πŸ˜‰

And finally, she came to the column called PAN number and she paused. I woke up from my imaginary pedicure and asked her if there was any problem.

She hesitated, but finally told that since this account was related to the PAN number, the Cheque Book cannot be issued to me. But only to my husband.

I was furious. Suddenly I felt the bubble burst. Β I told her that all Savings Accounts have their PAN number in them and that she should have told me first about the whole Cheque book thing. What hurt me most was her refusal to hand over the Cheque Book to me.

She tried to calm me down and flashed a sweet smile and told me that the Cheque Book will be hand delivered tomorrow to my husband and that there is no need to worry.

That seems to be good enough for me. I was enjoying so much luxury in the Bank, that I hated to leave that place. Can u imagine that ????

Beep…..Beep……Beep…..went on the alarm at 5.30 !!!

“Damn, this dream and the alarm !!! Oh !!! Shut up, you mobile…..lemme spend some more time in that wonderful place called Bank.”

The husband heard me talk and asked about it. When I told him, he was mighty pleased and smiled too.

“Oh dear, I am so happy to have you in my life. Even in your dream, you seem to be thinking of going to the Bank and doing my Account related work. You are such a darling”.

And I hated to have that Bank dream !!! πŸ™„

  4. LOL! But some of these private banks are like that indeed. I think only in Indian banks do they have those ‘jailed’ counters. They’re the one I grew up seeing too πŸ™‚
