Come, pack your bags…

I said to my husband.

But where are we going ??? was his questioning glance at me.

I was bulging with excitement…..”Just see this booking confirmation – I’ve booked us for a 2 day stay at the Kites Resort. Isnt it wonderful ???”

Some of my excitement seems to catch up with the husband and my girls and we all pack our bags, squealing with laughter.

The moment we got down the train, the car was waiting for us to take us to the Resort. WOW, the thought of being there in a few hours really made it more wonderful.

After travelling for some distance, the car stopped. It looked like the entrance to a small man-made forest. While I was wondering “What on Earth am I doing here, instead of going to the Resort?”, the driver beckoned us to follow him through the forest.

OH…MY….Why are we walking through this jungle ???? Husband looks at me with questioning eyes – You are the one who booked us onto this.  Now, am I ready for this adventurous trek, I ask myself.

Since, the driver seems to know where we are supposed to go, we just follow him, hoping he’ll guide us out of the forest, safely.

The smile on the girls faces, seem to fade slowly, as we trek deep into the forest.

It was eerily silent and getting more darker, as the thick trees blocked off the sunlight to penetrate through them.

Finally, we get to see some moss-covered steps and it looks like we need to climb up them. But where do they lead to ???? Nothing is clear from that view-point and we all hold our breath as we start climbing the stairs steadily and slowly.  The guide who reached the top first, was waiting there with a smiling face, for us.

And suddenly, we were on top of a small mountain and the other side of the mountain is the Kite Resort, I’ve booked into.

Oh….what a transformation from those forests to the clear valley, the beautiful greenery and the lovely climate that welcomed us. Certainly a heaven on Earth. 🙂

After the Ohs and Ahs of the four of us, the guide led us down the hill, down to the valley to our Cottage.

And do you know, whats the speciality of this Resort ??? They teach us and help us to fly Kites. It was a fantastic experience, running through the valley of flowers, with a Kite in hand and screaming and squealing with delight as though I am a small girl of 9 or 10.

Another speciality of this place is the variety of Dosas….. 😉 The foodie in me never sleeps, I guess, especially for Dosas. And all of us seem to be filled with varieties of dosas from morning till night.

There is also a mosque and a temple to visit, which is open to anyone !!!
