The Baker and the Poetess.

The Muffins baked at home yesterday.

Now, please don’t think that this posting of the picture was done in purpose to make you all drool. πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

Ok, I had posted this one in FB yesterday and thanks to all of you, for the tremendous response. The main reason for posting this, is the awesome poem by dear Suranga, which made the muffins all the more delicious. πŸ™‚

So, here it is, for you all too. Bite into the muffins, read through the poem and have a great day. πŸ™‚

Somnolent
on a hot afternoon,
tired from school,
satiated
by the rasam
and curd rice,
they sprawl
with a book,
worrying about
homework,
dance class,
the need
to visit the mall
and look for Endhiran tees
very soon…..

But there’s something
in the air…
a whiff of chocolate
and vanilla
and cinnamon
emerges
around the corner,
and they
rush in
wide awake
to see
fresh baked scrumptious
muffins
and a delighted Mom
clicking them.

Muffins with vanilla icecream, anyone ?

And do you know what ???? The poem describes the scene at my home yesterday, in perfect detail. I don’t know, how Suranga got all of them in perfect understanding. Hugs to you, Suranga….for this lovely poem and for just reading too much through my muffins. πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

  1. Thank you, Uma ! Actually the visual was so wonderful, and I just imagined how I would have reacted as a young girl (50 years ago) , and wrote the poem. Shameless me . Generations may change, but reactions to muffins will always remain unchanged , and it always helps to know the cultural ethos in various regions of the country…….

So did you try it with vanilla icecream ?…:-))))
