This post is part of the Chennai Bloggers Club’s CBC VIBGYOR BLOG TAG where some of us will write a post on the colours of VIBGYOR each day starting 1st of September to the 7th of September.
The colour theme for today’s post is RED !
As a complete foodie, I absolutely love this fiery red. What do you say ?
Oh…How can I forget to post my favourite Gulmohar red !!!
Somehow, I love this flower or leaf…whatever Especially the center part looks like a Ice Popsicle
This one picture is from The Hindu !! This is taken during Durga Puja festival, on the last day when the festival culminates.
People in Kolkatta, celebrate Durga Puja with great elan and total joy. Everyone is there on the street, visiting pandals, eating street food, wearing new clothes, living the festive spirit that’s truly there during those Durga Puja days. The last day after Dasami, when the festival comes to an end, the ladies go all out in doing a farewell for Durga Ma. They apply RED kumkum on themselves, on everybody else and they rejoice this application of RED kumkum. [Hope you remember the last scene in Kahaani, the Vidya Balaan starrer - its this festival]
The women cry that their favorite Goddess is going away, but still rejoice in the thought that she’ll come back again next year. When we literally roamed the streets of Kolkatta during the festive days, we can feel this fever get inside us too. And on the festive culmination day, tears do fall on their own accord, that Durga Ma is given farewell.
This is one amazing picture of RED that stays in my mind forever
