The IRONY of the late morning !!! :)
I woke up to a bright skies rather than a dark ones – the perfect indication that I am late !!!
Oh !!! **** !!! I am terribly late today !!! :(
My trusted and SOUND wake up device, lies quietly by my side !!!
I look at it with really SHOCKED eyes !!! 
“How did you fail me???” I wail. That tiny gadget has shown me the art of deceiving at my crucial time of need. “I hate you for this” !!! 
Got up in a jiffy, cooked as fast as I can. Packed her lunch and heaved out a puff of relief.
“If the alarm didn’t go off, probably you left your mobile in Silent mode, Mom !!!”
“Nooooo, even in Silent mode, this mobile rings loud for alarms !!!”
“Probably you didn’t set the alarm at all, darling !!!”
“Oh come on, the alarm setting is still ON !!! And its not ringing !!!”
Why ???
Why do people believe in that tiny gadget called mobile than in my capability to set an alarm ???
Have I not been doing this everyday for the past so many years I am in possession of that tiny communication device ???
Why ???
hahahaha! Thats such a cute account…kahani ghar ghar ki..the only advantage is that I have a 3 year old..so doesnt come up with such stuff about silent mode and all that..she will just say ‘amma alarm dala hi nahi, isskeliye baja hi nahi’

heheh this happens with me so many times,trust me and every time I’m left with thinking why do I have to depend on the mobile to which I get a very shocking answer by self-we don’t own any alarm clocks
can you beat that? Alarm clocks have vanished..the so very loyal and sturdy ones have no place in our lives anymore

Thats so true Nu…I too miss my sturdy alarm clock…dont know when and where they vanished !!!

This happened to me yesterday, I think I switched off my alarm and went back to sleep:)
LOL Smitha !!! Even I’ve switched off the mobile so many times and gone back to sleep, but then the alarm will be in OFF mode, right ??? It was still ON in my mobile, when I woke up and found that it didnt ring…
Yeah…they doubt my skills on setting an alarm…baah….

Am just thinking its a serious technical fault with that particular model of mobile phones…
Ask the question ‘Why? Reminded me of the time I used the lighter a few times and the gas stove did not light up. Some days before that my s-i-l who was visiting had tried unsuccessfully to light the stove and then passed the lighter to me.
So the L & M hearing the failed couple of “tick ticks” tells me, “You too are like Bhabhi. Can’t light the stove?” :O :O :O
So what happened to the years and years of meals I had prepared till then? How had I lighted the stove?!
How irritating and embarrassing to oneself !!! I would’ve given a big scolding to that gas lighter, irrespective of fact that it wont make any difference !!! But, why do these strange things happen around us ???
The comments reminds me of the “Devil” alarm I had during my college days. It goes Gggrrrrrrrrrr…….in the morning.. n the whole hostel wakes up, but no me..
Oh !!! How much ever it makes u go gggrrr….I wish for one of those which doesnt fail on any given day !!!

but each time I was responsible as I had played with the settings and AM had become PM and once I had deactivated the alarm

But this time, I had set everything correctly, its the device which failed me….is that so difficult to believe in this techie days ???

Ha ha ha… hugs Uma. This has happened to me before. I got late for a very important presentation and was short of throwing the phone out of the window when I found out that the people I had to present to were late as well.
U were lucky, the gadget problem was an epidemic on that day, probably !!!

But that mystery still bothers me…everynight I check if it rings before I set it to my early morning time…its weird.
Hahaha, Uma! This sounds so familiar! I have had so many such mornings where the alarm has refused to go off( or so i claim
)and I have woken up all mad and late for my chores! The only thing is in my case the alarm does go off but mostly i end up stopping shut the irritating snooze tone to go back to get the last wink of sleep! And in the end I conveniently put all the blame on my poor phone for messing up my day

there is a time when I thought mobile didn’t alarmed me!! but then I remembered I even went to the extent of taking battery out of mobile to keep it silent while sleeping

Is that some kind of bug in the device everywhere? Coz I had same problems. I still don’t know why my mobile din’t alarm a few days back. It’s a complete nightmare when I had to start to office at 8.00am, and suddenly wake up saying S*** at 7.30 in the morning! Leave alone making breakfast or lunch!
Oh dear….that surely is a bug in that device, which has overtaken our lives. Hugs.

If its any consolation…. it happens to me too!
Set the alarm on mobile, go to sleep, and wake up late coz either the alarm did not ring. Or I was so tired I slept thru it
My alarm ring tone is so irritating and loud, that I have no chances of sleeping thru it…of course, I’ve set it purposefully to jolt me awake !!! And it failed me !!!
I think mine is jinxed not to ring on the day i set it, but on the days that i don’t need to wake up.. Example. Sunday If my mobile alarm fails, the junior remembers to ring the bell:)
Oh !!! Isnt that the irony of life ??? I hate to get up early on sundays and I always get up before my alarm strikes on that holiday….bugging !!!
