Did you know that yesterday was Dev Anand’s birthday ????? Now, even I didnt know about that…you see, I am not a great fan of this actor. But certainly the songs of his movies were such a great hit and the ladies in his movies were rocking beautiful and so lovely to look at.
Just had the lazy Sunday opportunity to catch with Rangoli in DD, after so many weeks of missing it. So, here are the songs, which came on Rangoli, now in my page, all for you – You see…I feel so good to share my happiness here, with you all.
So, enjoy the songs and add more, if you think of any good one.
Abhi na jaon chod kar
Aankhon hi aankhon mein ishara ho gaya
Dil pukare…aa re aa re
Tere mere sapne ab ek rang hai
This is one wonderful song, which is so close to my heart for the lyrics….esp the one in bold….such fantastic words…I just love it.
Actually, I love all the songs from this movie..GUIDE.
tere mere sapane, ab yek rang hain
jahaa bhee le jaaye raahe, hum sang hain
mere tere dil kaa, tay thaa yek din milanaa
jaise bahaar aane par, tay hain fool kaa khilanaa
o mere jeewan saathee.. ..
tere dukh ab mere, mere sukh ab tere
tere ye do nainaa, chaand aaur suraj mere
o mere jeewan saathee.. ..
laakh manaa le duniyaa, saath naa ye chhootegaa
aa ke mere haathon me, haath naa ye chhootegaa
o mere jeewan saathee.. ..
Dheere dheere chal chaand gagan mein
Tujhe jeevan ki dor se

Those days, songs were the key to the movies…
The songs had a lot of conversation and some story too in it…
I know…we dont get such wonderful lyrics in today’s movie songs…something so awful like munni badnam huye keeps to hound our ears…
Scorpia is PRIYA??
Some translation will surely help me in understanding the lyrics… U translate all the tamil songs and when it comes to hindi…
OOPS Kanagu…forgot…will try to do some translation…
Enjoy the music in the meanwhile…

Two which Dev ananad’s thoughts make me sing:
O mere Sona …
Hoton mein aisi baat ….
The 1st one aklwys makes me smile
And yes needless to say – Phoolon ka taaron ka sabka kehna hai ….
Oh…phoolon ka taaron ka is an all-time fav….wow…I love that song.
Jewel thief songs just steal the heart away from us…
Amazing movie and songs…
Beautiful songs!
The other day I saw that song on TV – ‘What is mobile number… what is your style number…de de koi easy number’
Left me wondering that while some songs are made to represent trends at that point of time, some songs were made to be timeless… Like the ones you have put up – I think even my grandkids would enjoy those
Thanks dear.
Oh…I do hate such silly songs…
I loved this – I think even my grandkids would enjoy those !!! So very true.
You watch Rangoli, still?? Wow!!
It was one of my favorite show during the good old days!!
Yeah..I try to watch, whenever the whole house seems to be dozing…
Otherwise, the remote flies from my hands…
Watch it na…you’ll enjoy it.
I love Dev Anand – of this phase! Love love love him! But what he became later makes me want to close my eyes and scream
Love all these songs – Another one of my favourite

Oh dear…thank u thank u for all those links…me totally having another Rangoli here…
All nice songs ! The magic that music creates, ho, I have no words !
Dev Saab must have been your heartthrob during your days, na?
You had to put that last line, hai na Devil??
Finally one sentence that makes sense.
In the happy mood I am, after listening to all the songs put up by Smitha, I am forgiving u for writing that second line.
Even now, the days are her’s
Ums, u luv me for saying this no
I used to watch Rangoli every Sunday during my summer vacations in Kerala. My mom used to wonder how come that was the only day when she didn’t have to scream for me to wake up
Awwww all the songs are awesome. He did some great movies in his early years and damn the moment he started directing it was all crazy
My all time fave Dev Anand song is Phoolon Ka Taro Ka. It has too much memories associated with my childhood days. All my brothers used to bray like donkeys while trying to sing this song for me.
One of them even used to imitate Dev Anand and call me Jennifer in his style
Ohh they still sing this song for me over the phone trying to make me deaf
All the songs of Jewel Thief are so awesome especially this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hjl2YFf1pwM&feature=channel
So sweet…whether it was like donkey’s bray or not…they sang that lovely song to you, na…
Hugs to the special bonding.
Sometimes its so wonderful to find a song, which can recite the words from your heart…so apt and exact to the feelings.
Wow! U still continue to watch Rangoli??? Great! 10 years back, I used to wake up to the lovely songs of Rangoli!! Nice Dev anand collections!! Needless to say, I love his songs in Guide and Jewel theif! Such a charming personality he is!
Yeah, I try to watch, if the girls and hubby are sleeping still …
Of course, those movies were damn good with such pleasing music and great voice.
Beautiful songs… Tere Mere Sapne ab ek rang hain – my favorite
My fave is Abhi na jao chod kar
Oh and another oldie fave of mine is ‘ Jalte hain jiske liye’, lovely!
Aaaahhhh lovely lovely collection of songs
